Who we are
I’m Dino, I run Doors by Dino, a one-man operation based in South London, and doors are the thing I do.
I trained the proper way: an apprenticeship under my father, learning carpentry from the ground up, followed by a Level 3 NVQ in Carpentry. That was over 15 years ago, and I’ve been on tools ever since. Along the way I also spent six years working in project management, which turned out to matter more than I expected. It means when I quote you a job, I run it like one: proper scoping, clear timelines, no vanishing halfway through and leaving you chasing me for updates.
I went self-employed over four years ago because I wanted to build something of my own, a business built on doing the job right, communicating properly, and charging fairly for it. No call centre, no rotating crew of subcontractors, no upsell. Just me, doing the work I quoted, at a price that reflects the job and not a brand markup.
Day to day, that means two things:
Front doors. A well-fitted front door is one of the best-value changes you can make to a property, it’s the first thing anyone sees, and it should be built to last. I supply and fit off the shelf and bespoke timber front and back doors, finished properly, no shortcuts.
Fire door compliance. For leasehold blocks, HMOs, and management companies, I install and remediate FD30S fire doors to a standard that actually holds up when it’s inspected, not just one that looks right on the day. Fifteen years in the trade plus a real understanding of certification and FRA requirements means I can tell you honestly what needs doing and what doesn’t, even when that means quoting you less than you expected.
Because I work alone, you’re not getting handed off. The person who quotes the job, project-manages it, and does it, is the same person, start to finish.
Perfectly hung, every time.
